E-Government Approved Fraud – Fake Academies
SECTORAL PURIFICATION AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: OUR UNCOMPROMISING STANCE AGAINST THE TRADE IN FAKE CERTIFICATES.
UYKSEF signed a cooperation protocol with a university in 2020, at a time when e-Government integration and digital certification processes were just beginning, in order to ensure that its trainees could easily access their certificates at any time. However, this visionary step inadvertently paved the way for the emergence of so-called ‘Online Academies’ that lack professional validity, are devoid of proper training, and operate solely with commercial concerns.
These entities have defrauded tens of thousands of individuals in critical fields such as ‘Close Protection, Municipal Police, and Private Security’—which require real field experience and practical training—by issuing certificates with no actual validity.
Corporate Reputation and Strategic Differentiation
Our federation has never allowed its name to be associated with such qualified fraudulent activities or with so-called ‘certificate traders.’ Based on the principle that what truly matters is not ‘university approval’ but UYKSEF’s international accreditation and signature, we have unilaterally terminated our protocol with the relevant university.
Our Legislative Efforts and Legal Victory
Following applications to our federation by hundreds of individuals who were victimized under the guise of so-called ‘distance learning,’ we took action. Within the scope of our proposal for amendments to Law No. 5188 on Private Security, we submitted our solution proposals to the relevant authorities of our state in order to prevent such fraudulent activities.
This strategic move quickly yielded results; the General Directorate of Security (EGM), in line with our requests, sent an official letter to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), ensuring the immediate termination of courses such as ‘Close Protection, Security, Municipal Police, etc.’ conducted within universities.

Important Public Warning and Professional Criticism
If someone tries to sell you a Close Protection certificate labeled as ‘Notarized,’ ‘e-Government Approved,’ or ‘University Approved,’ be aware that this is a deception!
However, one crucial fact must be emphasized: individuals who fail to understand that the profession of ‘Close Protection’ cannot be learned through distance education, and who purchase certificates without attending any physical training, are just as complicit in this fraud as those who sell these documents.
We approach applications submitted to our federation with such complaints with great care and scrutiny. Because a professional protector must possess intelligence, agility, and the ability to think systematically.
A person who lacks the judgment to protect themselves even from an online scammer cannot possibly protect a VIP! It should be remembered that while anyone can receive defense training, only those who are competent and of strong character can become a ‘protector.’
UYKSEF – Our Strength Lies in the Realism of Our Training.
